Inside the Thurston Lava Tube at the Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park. Just 500 years ago, red hot lava was flowing through this tube. Today it stands as a testament to mother natures mysterious beauty.
Lava tubes are formed as lava continues to flow under the hardened surface; eventually draining out and leaving an empty shell behind.
